No one likes to think that they’re facing their battles on their own – and without any tools to build a defence. Exam time is tough and demands on your time, energy and wellbeing. Social life can itself be a bit of a minefield. Just like an Olympic athlete, you can have your own performance coach. I have worked with students all over the world who benefit from just that – someone to talk things through and develop some effective tools to deal with issues such as:

  • high levels of exam anxiety including having “mind blanks” and dropping grades significantly between your mocks and actual exams
  • low levels of self-esteem – how to learn to be proud of the person in the mirror
  • being a victim of bullying.  How to prove to yourself that it won’t hold you back and that you can be the person you want to be, with friends who are proud of you
  • how to give that final 5%...Taking yourself from a good performer to a great performer.  Preparing your mind for high achievement and believing in yourself
  • no idea about your future career, so that motivation for study is a major problem
  • being thoroughly disorganised with no real knowledge of how to effective study independently

The first thing we do is to learn about you...for me to understand your thinking, your beliefs and how your experiences shape you now.  Lots of people find that just in talking through themselves, they realise things about them and they hadn’t really acknowledged before – and that in itself helps with progress.

After that, we start developing your own Preparation Plan, just like a Pre-Competition Plan for athletes.  At any given time, you’ll have strategies at your fingertips to help move you forward faster, and you’ll have support every step of the way.  Whatever it is that you’d like to improve, we put together a plan to make it happen and in a way that you feel you can do it.

Like a sport too, you will benefit from a support team...and there you have your family, school, friends and your performance coach.  We all work together to help you progress.

There is nothing more satisfying than to see students reach their goals, especially when they doubted their capacity to do so in the first place.  I would love to show you that you too can achieve whatever you turn your mind to – with just a little help from your support team.
